Overview of Last Minute Broadway Tickets

April 21st, 2009

Try and avoid buying last minute Broadway tickets. Picture this. You are taking your family out for a nice evening at Broadway. You do not bother to make advance bookings. You think that you will reach the venue and then buy last minute Broadway tickets. You reach the venue and find that the tickets are all sold out. Your spouse is upset, your kids are heartbroken and you are feeling extremely guilty. To avoid falling into a situation like this, you must not ever buy last minute Broadway tickets. Always get an advance booking done. It really is worth the effort.

Broadway shows are very popular. They take you to a complete different world. You must experience the magic of Broadway at least once in your lifetime. There are shows to cater to all tastes – be it thriller, action, comedy, or musical. The shows are scheduled at different time of the day and you can choose the one that is the most convenient to you. The tickets are pretty expensive. But that does not mean that you will not be able to afford them. You also get discounted tickets. But you will have to know how you can get them. You need to avoid buying last minute Broadway tickets if you do not want to get hassled.

If you are a student, you can use your student ID to buy tickets at a heavy discount. So can you if you are an elderly citizen. There is something called Starving Artist Tickets. Usually struggling artists buy them as they cannot afford buying tickets at a full price. You just need to wait in the queue for sometime. But it is worth the wait as you can get seats with good view in dirt-cheap prices. Usually you must avoid buying last minute Broadway tickets. But there are times when last minute Broadway tickets can really be beneficial. Rush tickets are given out to the audience via lottery. They are given out a few hours before the show starts. They are also an extremely good bargain. But you would need to carry cash with you as these last minute Broadway tickets do not accept any other form of payment.

There are something called standing room tickets also. These tickets come cheap too. With these tickets, there is no guarantee of seats. You might have to stand throughout the performance. If you are lucky, you might find a few seats unoccupied where you can sit with permission. All said and done, I would still suggest that you do not buy last minute Broadway tickets. Ensure an advance booking. The Broadway shows are extremely well sought. Thus the demand for their tickets is also very high. Since the shows do not run forever, there is a mad rush to procure the tickets. Some agencies buy the tickets in bulk and then sell them at a premium. Those who have delayed buying the tickets till the last will have to pay this premium to buy them.

Choosing the Right Ticket Company

April 20th, 2009

Looking for the right ticket company? Back in the old days, picking the right ticket agency is not that easy. You still have to check on their legitimacy and those days, concerts, Broadway shows, and famous plays were for the people who can only afford it. But gladly, these wonderful shows can now be enjoyed without spending too much money.

When it comes to picking the right ticket company, take in consideration some things. Do they have a website? Do some little research and background check first on the ticket company before you transact. How long have they been selling tickets? Do they sell tickets above the face values? Does the ticket company have reliable contact information? It is very important that you know their phone number so you can call them whenever something comes up. Because there are instances wherein the concerts and shows are postponed or cancelled.

The ticket company should have their own set of policies. And make sure that you have read all the terms and conditions first before going into any form of payment or business transaction. If you are a ticket broker, the ticket company you choose is very important. If you end up choosing an illegitimate ticket company, for sure you will regret it. All of your time, money, and efforts will be put to waste just because the ticket company you chose to trust is in fact, a fraud. So before making any move, prequalify the ticket company first. With the aid of technology, the online world has entered the field of commerce and business.

Many people have relied on the internet for so many things, even in buying their tickets. Does your ticket company have a website updated regularly? Golden Circle is a ticket company you can trust. They have been selling Broadway tickets, concert tickets and sports events tickets for more than ten years now. Don’t have time to buy tickets at the ticket outlet? Just log on to www.GoldenCircle.net and you will be presented with the available tickets and seats that they can offer.

In addition, you can make your payments without any hassles. No need to go to their office just to get those Shakira or Mariah Carey concert tickets. You can actually buy your tickets online. This ticket company is dedicated to giving their clients and customers the best experience of their lives. Golden Circle specializes in selling tickets to famous New York Broadway shows and the entry to various theaters in Los Angeles and so much more. And the prices are simply affordable. So who says that tickets are that expensive? If you choose the right ticket company, then you would not need to worry on getting the fair prices.

However, as much as possible, do not purchase tickets on the last minute because you might end up disappointed when the ticket company says that the tickets are already “sold out”. So if you have plans on watching concerts or plays, contact your ticket company immediately so that you are guaranteed to have the best seats in town.

Avenue Q Synopsis

Princeton, a recent college graduate, comes to New York with an almost empty wallet but eyes full of dreams. It does not take him very long to realize that in New York, the only place where you can be with a light wallet is Avenue Q. Although it is not what Princeton had wanted, he soon grows to love the place and his neighbors who are sweet people. They all have one thing in common - no money but big dreams.

As the Two Acts play unfolds, we are put face-to-face with many different characters. They all have their own problems to take care of, but still manage to see the brighter side of life. Brian, Kate, Rod and Nicky, among many others, come together to give the audience a perspective on life, while sending them into roars of laughter, both at the same time. And then there are the puppets, the most interesting of all characters. They are sometimes bitter and sometimes friendly, sometimes sad and sometimes happy, sometimes fighting and sometimes making up. All in all, the puppets are one of the most essential characters of Avenue Q.

Enjoy a Feast for the Eyes and Ears With Lion King Tickets Broadway

April 18th, 2009

Lion King tickets Broadway are passes to see one of the most successful productions to ever hit Broadway. While the animated movie of the same name was also a blockbuster hit in theaters, in many ways the Broadway productions seem to have surpassed the movie on a global scale.

Instant Success

People who are lining up for Lion King tickets Broadway today might be surprised to learn that skepticism was high when the show was about to hit the stage. The movie was already a runaway hit and cynics found it hard to imagine that a stage production would be able to equal, much less surpass the success the movie had. The show opened in 1997 at the Orpheum Theater in Minnesota and was an immediate success. In fact, the show proved to be so popular that it was permanently shifted to the New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway.

But that was just on the home front. What would make this production so amazing and the demand for Lion King Broadway tickets so high is the fact that the play also made an impact on a global scale. In 1999 the show opened at the Lyceum Theater in London and is still running today. In Canada, the show had a run for four years while it ran in two venues in Australia for a number of years as well. In 2007, the Lion King made its first ever debut on African soil in Johannesburg and the premiere was attended by big stars like Oprah Winfrey.

From Cartoon To Real Life

Perhaps part of the initial skepticism about the play came from the fact that many people didn’t understand how well a cartoon movie could translate on the stage. Ironically enough, that is probably one of the reasons why the show is such a success. The play used a number of very creative costumes, life-sized puppets and extra tools to bring the portrayal of each animal to life. The characters were not simply portrayed by puppets or a actors- they were conveyed using a combination of both.

Those with Lion King tickets Broadway will be treated to some extraordinary acting and choreography on the part of these actors, who had to act, dance and manipulate their costumes at the same time. Those that played the giraffes, for example, had to move around on stilts while those who played the ‘big cats’ had mechanical headpieces to simulate how cats lunge at each other. Needless to say, the Lion King has been a big winner at the Tony Awards, picking up awards for best musical, best scenic design, best costume design, best choreography and best direction.

You can pick up Lion King tickets Broadway for everyone in the family because this is something everyone will enjoy. From young children to adults, the magic of Lion King is completely irresistible and is an experience to be relished. There is a Mad Rush for Pygmalion Broadway Tickets!

April 18th, 2009

Welcome Claire Danes on Broadway, as she makes her debut in “Pygmalion”! Danes is playing the role of Eliza Doolittle in this new George Bernard Shaw’s production. “Pygmalion” is the story of a professor named Henry Higgins. He comes across an uneducated and poor cockney girl called Eliza. The professor makes a bet of transforming this street girl of London into an elegant high society lady by changing her way of speaking. However, in the process, he finds that transforming people is not an easy task.

The role of Henry Higgins is beautifully played by Jefferson Mays. “Pygmalion” is a tale of human emotions that are involved in changing a person’s style of living. Change does not happen overnight in an individual. Besides, it is not limited to physical appearance. There is a series of emotional considerations in teaching someone new ways of living. “Pygmalion” has vividly depicted this little, but vital, piece of truth.

David Grindley has directed “Pygmalion.” The Roundabout Theatre Company has produced it. The additional star cast is yet to be declared. The design team of this show includes Gregory Clarke for sounds, Jason Taylor for lighting, and Jonathan Fensom for costumes and sets. The team also has a dialect coach, Majella Hurley, who will help Jefferson in getting the right accent for the character of Henry Higgins, when he teaches a new dialect to Eliza in the story.

“Pygmalion” has proved to be an important stepping stone in Danes’s career. She stars in “Evening”, which is a group drama. This show also stars Patrick Wilson, Glenn Close, Toni Collette, Vanessa Redgrave, and Meryl Streep. In addition to this, Danes has bagged a role in Matthew Vaughn’s “Stardust”, starring opposite Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer!

The Roundabout Theatre Company had organized a press meet on September 4, 2007. This event doubled as welcome party for the cast of “Pygmalion”. The show is scheduled to run at The Roundabout Theatre from Tuesdays to Saturdays, at 8pm. On Wednesdays, Sundays, and Weekends, it will run at 2pm. On September 23, there was a special Sunday evening show of “Pygmalion” at 7:30pm.

From November 12-23, 2007, the Roundabout Theatre will run special 7pm shows of “Pygmalion”, plus an evening performance on November 19 at 8pm. There will be no show on November 22.

It’s time you started booking tickets for this interesting Broadway show. The show is expected to attract a massive audience; hence, it will get almost impossible to get tickets, as the scheduled dates come closer. Already, the box office has started to see long lines of theatre lovers. If you do not wish to stand in long queues, you can either dial a number or book your tickets online. They even deliver tickets at home. Moreover, this is a better option than the box office, as you have more chances of getting tickets of your choice show, through ticketing services.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Broadway Tickets

April 18th, 2009

This intriguing musical comedy opened on May 2, 2005, at the Circle In The Square Theatre based in the Theatre District of Broadway New York City. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Broadway tickets have become a hot item in New York based largely on the success of the production which originated Off-Broadway where great reviews and word of mouth have jumped the show into a must see event for most who enjoy the art of theater in the Big Apple. The show is an original production which focuses on off beat yet very witty humor and the lessons of the students dealing with competition as well as winning and losing and what that means in general. Tops all of the cool dialogue and smart laughs with some fun yet simple effective music and it is no wonder why this clever and different type of musical has not only stayed on Broadway this long but has gathered quite a following as it did Off-Broadway for many.

The Story

The history of this show is very interesting as it has grown into the full production of today. A New York bases improvisational acting group started the early work on this concept. This group called themselves “The Farm” and performed the early show under the name of CREPUSULE, actually billed as C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E. The group and show eventually grew and evolved into the current idea and called The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee which focuses on six adult actors playing the characters of younger children who are competing against each other to win the spelling bee. The story uses this idea to launch the lives of the characters and the dilemmas of their youth, such as the pressure of junior high, the awkwardness of adolescence, nosey parents trying to direct them in life and all this while being considered “The Nerds” of their social environment. The group of six seems to find peace, friendship and purpose only within the spelling bee competition. Through the show the audience truly identifies with some of the characters and may find themselves hoping for the one they relate with to win it all.

One thing which makes this show more unique then most is the factor of inviting four audience members to join in the fun. Before each show time the production gives some questions and interviews to people attending the show and picks four people to join the cast and participate in the spelling bee. This adds a nice risk factor, creates an opening for improvised humor to occur and makes each show unique and different every time. The show not only received great reviews and audience attendance but was nominated for six Tony Awards of which it won two including Best Book of a Musical and Best Features Actor in a Musical. The show became such a fast hit and won everyone so fast with nothing more then a word of mouth marketing plan that it made back 3.5 million dollar investment for production in eighteen weeks, which is very impressive to say the least.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Broadway Tickets

The original musical comedy has gained steam and is one of the more talked about shows currently running on Broadway. With the amazing reviews and audience reaction along side an intriguing unique storyline idea which seems it will never grow old with each show having the ability to be completely different then the next, this show should have a long and healthy run on The Great White Way. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Broadway tickets sell for about sixty dollars with sold out show times costing much more. The Theaters box office sells out face value tickets for popular evening shows often. If a show time or event date is not available from the box office a ticket broker may be your only option for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Broadway tickets. The use of a ticket broker will always cost more then original face value, but will guarantee a legitimate ticket for any show without risks.

Alternate Ways of Booking Rent Broadway Tickets

April 18th, 2009

“Rent” is a typical story of love, friendship, and community. Yet, there is something in this show that has made it enter into its 12th wonderful year on Broadway! This show has brought a wave of change in the thinking of the new generation, plus their attitude towards musical theatre.

“Rent” is the version of “La Boheme”, Giacomo Puccini’s evergreen opera of 1896. It features a group of French artistes who struggle to make a living in Paris. The late Jonathan Larson, the creator of the musical version, altered the location to the East village of New York City. He changed the professions of the characters. The opera had a struggling poet and painter, whereas this Broadway musical has a struggling songwriter and filmmaker. Besides this, he picked social activism as the subplot of the story. With such alterations and new insertions, he managed to revolutionize musical theatre in America.

“Rent” is a beautiful depiction of how a group of talented people from the East Village, strive to carve a niche for themselves in the City and seek love in today’s indifferent society. The musical consists of a series of powerful songs. It dares to touch controversial subjects such as, drug addiction, AIDS, and homelessness. The show deals with such issues with compassion and manages to attract the attention of the audience in huge numbers, with its touching tale of dreams, hopes, and ambitions.

This euphoric rock musical had its first off-Broadway performance at New York Theatre Workshop in the month of January 1996. Unfortunately, the creator of this show, Jonathan Larson, passed away all of a sudden on the eve of the first performance. Later, “Rent” opened on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre on April 29, 2006 with a huge applause. It won the Tony Award for the Best Musical as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in the same year. In the words of New York Times critic, Ben Brantley, “Rent shimmers with hope for the future of the American musical.”

The musical stars Adam Pascal in the role of Roger. He is famous for his performance as Radames in “Aida” and as Emcee in “Cabaret.” Then, we have Anthony Rapp in the role of Mark Rapp. His recently released memoir titled “Without You,” talks about his experience. Tamyra Gray plays the role of Mimi in “Rent.” She came in the limelight after being positioned at the fourth place in the first season of the famous TV show American Idol. She is better known for her role in “Bombay Dreams”, which was her debut Broadway show.

It’s not easy to get tickets for “Rent.” So, if you are interested in watching this show, you better choose alternate ways of booking your seats in the theatre. They are dialing a number or logging online. There are higher chances that the ticketing service will arrange for tickets of your choice show.

Watch “Rent.” It inspires you to pursue your own dreams. Watching the struggling artists sends a surge of motivation across your mind to strive until you succeed.
